Released on August 11, 2023, Obsidian Flames is the third main expansion set from the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet series. It’s the English counterpart to the Japanese expansion set, Ruler of the Black Flame.
Featuring multiple Charizard cards of varying rarities, if you like Charizards, this is the set for you. Obsidian Flames is also the first set to include type-shifted Tera Pokemon ex, like Tyranitar ex with an Electric-Type Terastallization. 💡

Pokémon Ranger Kat's Bonus Pick: Obsidian Flames has some of my favorite full illustration cards, and I think the art for the Pidgey evolution line is particularly fun and unique! The bold outlines and simple coloring makes the trio stand out in contrast to the softer and more detailed illustrations in the set.
