Released on April 26, 2024, Mask of Change is the fifth Japanese subset from the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet series. Combined with Crimson Haze, it is the Japanese counterpart to the English set, Twilight Masquerade.

Like Crimson Haze, Mask of Change also revolves around Pokémon and trainers found in the land of Kitakami. However this time, the star of the show is the Teal Mask Pokémon herself, Ogerpon, with four separate Special Art Rares featuring each of her four masks! There are also several card illustrations depicting Pokémon and trainers enjoying the Festival of Masks, a playful shoutout to the Teal Mask DLC’s story and Kitakami lore. 🎭

Curious as to which cards are the most valuable from Mask of Change? Here are theTtop 12 (compiled from various sources such as TCGPlayer, Collectr, Pricecharting, etc.).

Pokémon Ranger Kat's Bonus Pick: I was really tempted to choose the Chansey Art Rare from this set because it’s just too adorable, but after all the 151 hype, I want to give some love to another gen. Yes, I might currently be replaying Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and also coincidentally been kinda obsessed with the 2021 Pokémon Center Chimecho Wind Chime (thanks targeted ads 🥲). However, really this card is just 100% the vibe I want in my life right now. Summer is just around the corner and I can’t wait for lazy days around the house, catnapping in a sunbeam while a warm breeze floats the sound of my neighbor’s wind chime through an open window... 🎶
