Released on January 20, 2024 in Japanese and March 31, 2023 in English the Scarlet & Violet Base set is the first main expansion set from the Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet series.
As the first expansion set of new generation, Scarlet & Violet Base is the first set to feature Pokémon and trainers from the Gen IX mainline games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with focus on their respective legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon. Scarlet & Violet Base also brings the games’ new mechanic, Terastallization, over to Pokémon TCG.
Scarlet & Violet Base showcases beautiful examples of Pokémon cards that have extended, paired artwork (Spidops ex Special Illustration Rare and Tarountula Illustration Rare) and cards that tell an overarching story across multiple illustrations (Ralts Illustration Rare, Kirlia Illustration Rare, and Gardevoir ex Special Illustration Rare).
