Released on December 6, 2024, Terastal Festival is the eighth Japanese subset from the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet era. It is the Japanese counterpart of the upcoming English special set, Prismatic Evolution.
There are a total of 237 cards in Terastal, including 12 Super Rares, 33 Special Art Rares, and 5 Ultra Rares. There are no Art Rares in this set. You are guaranteed 9 Double Rares, 1 Special Art Rare, 1 ACE SPEC card, and 3 reverse holos (no Master Ball guarantee) in a booster box. There is also the possibility of pulling an additional secret rare card. Pulling a God Pack booster pack is also a possibility with this set!
For all the Eevee lovers out there, the main theme of Terastal Festival is Eeveelutions! And hopefully you’re fans of the crystal hats they’ll be donning as well because it’s now Eevee and the Eeveelutions’ turn to debut on the Stellar Terastal stage with art featuring them in that form.
We also see a lot of stars from previous sets returning with new Special Art Rare cards, like Terapagos (Stellar Miracle), Bloodmoon Ursaluna (Crimson Haze), Teal Mask Ogerpon (Mask of Change), and Roaring Moon and other Paradox Pokémon (Ancient Roar/Future Flash and Wild Force/Cyber Judge). Trainers from Naraja/Uva Academy and Blueberry Academy are also featured.
As a “High Class Pack” set, Terastal Festival has a main set mostly consisting of reprints of popular cards from sets released in 2023 and 2024, as well as a large number of Secret Rares. Terastal Festival also introduces a new reverse holo Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern. Unlike Japanese 151, there is no Master Ball reverse holo guarantee in the booster boxes, making those cards much rarer and sought after.
Curious as to which cards are the most valuable from Terastal Festival? Here are the Top 12. (compiled from various sources such as TCGPlayer, Collectr, Pricecharting, etc.)
Pokémon Ranger Kat's Bonus Pick: I’m not usually one to go for trainer cards, but I really enjoy these slice-of-life snapshots of the Blueberry Academy students that really show off their personalities and the academy backdrop. The colorful Polaroid-esque borders are also a nice touch in tying the four Special Art Rares of Lacey, Amarys, Drayton, and Crispin together!
