The Poké Court Community Support
This website is our only platform for receiving contributions. Any other platform, such as GoFundMe, is not operated or sponsored by us.
On Wednesday, January 14th, three armed robbers locked Poké Court customers and staff in the store, pointed guns, and smash-and-grabbed merchandise. This all occurred while the Poké Court was hosting a top loader decorating night, our first-community event in our new space.
Everyone is physically safe, but armed robbers did point a gun at several guests and employees in a place we built for people to enjoy Pokémon together.
We're so thankful for and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the community, both near and far. It means so much to us that you all want us to stay open so people can share their love for Pokemon. We’ve heard you and we will remain open.
Your kind messages, care packages, and shows of support have already helped us so much to get through this. We've also had hundreds of inquiries from community members on how to help financially, for which we are grateful, so we've set up this listing for anyone who would like to contribute. However, please don't feel any obligation to contribute.
If you would like to contribute, the funds will go towards:
- All costs associated with restoring the destroyed display cases
- Mental health counseling for everyone affected, both customers and employees
- Future community events
- Updated security measures
Contributions will NOT go towards:
- Purchasing store inventory
To donate crypto, please use this Coinbase Commerce link. No other crypto-based fundraisers are associated with Poke Court.
Note that your contribution is not a tax-exempt donation. No goods or services are being provided in consideration (other than the sheer amount of love that we are sending you back!). Poke Court LLC is a for-profit business, and as such, your contribution would not be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
By hosting this ourselves, we have immediate access to the funds to quickly pay for repairs and mental health counseling for our team and affected customers today.
