Releasing in Japan on September 26, 2025, Inferno-X will be second main expansion set from the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution era. It will be the Japanese counterpart of the upcoming English set Phantasmal Flames (releasing November 14 2025).
It’s not a Pokémon TCG era without a set designed around one of the most popular Pokémon of all time: Charizard! In keeping with the era’s theme of Mega evolutions, Inferno-X will more specifically be featuring Mega Charizard X. (Sorry Mega Charizard Y fans.) There will also be a focus on Fire- and Dark-type Pokémon in the set overall.
A new type of secret rare called “Mega Attack (MA)” was also recently revealed during the 2025 Pokémon World Championships closing ceremony. The MA card art was shown to have the Pokémon’s attack name written on the card (in English for Japanese cards and vice versa for English cards) reminiscent of the XY era Mega evolution cards. It’s not yet confirmed whether we’ll see these cards in Inferno-X or another set(s).
